Need to try a few of the recommended things as my teeth have been bleeding for some time. I think it could also affect your heart when you have gingivitis.

Is gingivitis is a contagious disease?

Posted on: 13.06.2013 10:13

It is caused by poor oral hygiene but not contagious

No it is not contageous.

However when you kiss you do swap some bacteria. If this other person becomes your significant boyfriend/girlfriend then you could adopt similar hygiene habits. So in theory you could inheirit a predisposition to active gingivitis.

But, practically I'd say NO it's not contageous. Especially if you brush and floss daily.

How long does it take to cure gingivitis. If I follow the home remedies and don't look for medical help, how much time I can assume that I will take to get rid of gingivitis

Nobody can answer your question. It may cure in two months and may not. It only depoend on how serious you are to get rid of gingivitis.

I had a problem with gingivitis myself, and the best cure is to use Listerine twice every day. Keep brushing and flossing, of course, but Listerine is what really took care of the gingivitis.

This also works on early periodontis, but you still need to have your hygenists clean your teeth regularly.
