Acne is an embarrassing and most of time a painful condition that is usually associated in our teenage years. It occurs in a person who is over nineteen years old. It is thought that adult acne has hormonal roots. It is highly embarrassing to have red, puss-filled pimples. Acne is exceedingly difficult to cope with in any age whether you are an adult or teenager. It brings down the self confidence and causing anxiety and depression. Surveys say that around 25 percent of adult men and 50 percent of adult women are suffering from adult acne.

Adult acne can also occurs in adults who don't have any acne in the earlier age. Some athletes and others take anabolic steroids to build their body. Adult onset acne is triggered by some factors like stress, dietary habits and hormonal changes. It may also occur due to medications typically containing lithium or iodine. It is also thought that eating foods like chocolate or greasy, fried foods can cause acne. But these foods do not affect sebum production, and therefore, they are not responsible for acne breakouts. Other than physical, it also affect you psychologically and socially by lowering self-esteem.

Many therapies are available for treatment of adult acne, and they are also highly effective. In most cases, they are same as for teenage acne. In women, some birth control pills are also capable of reducing acne by keeping hormones at bay. A no of skin care products like  cleansers, creams, and moisturizers are available for acne treatment in adults. Many treatment options are available for women with hormonal acne, including topical retinoids, topical antimicrobial and oral antibiotics. These medications are prescribed in case the inflammation is highly severe. Use herbal extracts and supplements for renewal of your skin. Don’t use harsh soaps as it makes skin dry. Vegetable oil based soap or face wash can be used to cleanse the skin gently without ripping.

Adult Acne Treatment Tips:

  • Don't touch your face with your bare Hands.
  • Take fresh fruit and Vegetables regularly in your Diet.
  • Use low fat and high-fiber diets.
  • Drink plenty of water each day to flush out toxins.
  • Watch the calories.
  • Keep yourself on regular exercise.
  • Use herbal extracts and supplements to encourage the revitalization of healthy skin.
  • Gently cleanse your skin daily only 2 to 3 times.
  • Do not Scrub the Skin.
