We are all familiar with itching which can reap at any time and troubles us a lot. We advise our children not to scratch skin but when we ourselves develop itching, we forget all the discipline and scratch the skin till content. Though this provides momentary satisfaction but it leaves the skin vulnerable and open to other infections due to damage caused by scratching of skin. There are many cause of itching sensation on skin that varies from a simple mosquito bite to some severe skin diseases. Sunburn, allergy, harsh chemical on skin, soaps, dry weather and some medication also causes itching. The itching is not limited to only skin but it can build up in scalp area as well as in your eyes. Itching is the sign send by our skin to tell us that something is bothering the skin and we respond to these signal by scratching the skin as it seems the effortless way to solve this problem but believe me, it is not the right way. There are many things available in our home that can solve itching problem without hurting the skin. Here are some tips

Tips To cure Skin Itching:

  1. Baking soda is an excellent remedy to cure all type of skin itching. Dissolve some baking soda in a warm water tub and soak yourself or take a bath with this water. If you have developed itching at a particular part of your skin, then you can apply a paste of baking soda over it. The paste can be made by mixing 3 part of baking soda with one part of water.
  2. Oatmeal bath can also be effective in curing the skin itching problem. Add a cup of oatmeal in a tub of warm water and soak yourself for around 20 minutes.
  3. You can apply cornstarch powder over the itching skin to get instant relief from it. Cornstarch powder
  4. Lemon can also be very effective in relieving the itchy sensation of skin. Lemon has natural anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties which reduce the itching. It also act as natural exfoliating agent which remove the damaged top layer of skin and remove the itchy sensation.
  5. Aloe Vera has natural skin healing and cleaning properties and can treat itchy skin caused by many factors like infection, dryness, wound or skin burn.
  6. Apple cider vinegar also treats the itchy skin. It has acidic nature which kills bacteria responsible for the itching. It also has anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties which cure the damaged skin.
  7. You can also rinse the itchy skin with mint tea. Mint has anesthetic and anti-inflammatory agents which numb the itch and reduce the inflammation caused by scratch.

These are some simple home remedy you can try for skin itching instead of scratching your skin and damaging it further.
