Ultraviolet Radiation:Sun rays coming to the earth comprise of several wavelength and energy level. UV rays are the specific band of full sun rays which contains high energy and short wavelength. UV rays are further divided in three groups known as UV-A, UV-B, UV-C. UV-C kind of rays doesn’t hit the earth and absorbed in the atmosphere especially in the ozone layer. UV-A and UV-B are the rays that cause skin problems. Benefits of Sun Exposure:UV radiation is not entirely harmful to our body. A short exposure to UV-A or UV-B rays can be useful for your body. Our body generates Vitamin D in the presence of UV-B. It is always recommended getting Vitamin-D via sun exposure rather than taking Vitamin-D supplements. Vitamin D is extremely valuable for our bones, and lack of vitamin D can cause rickets. Vitamin D helps the body to absorb Vitamin C, which makes it essential for having healthy bones and immune system. Lack of vitamin D makes you venerable to many health problems like diabetes, few sort of cancers, heart diseases, hypertension, Schizophrenia and Tuber-culosis. Sun rays also regulate some of hormones of body like serotonin and melatonin. Melatonin plays a crucial role in everyday body rhythm by maintaining mood, sleep and energy. This is the reason why some people feel happy when they come in daylight. Light therapy is used in treatment of insomnia, dry eyes, depression, male impotence and delayed orgasm. UV-A rays produce a tan on your skin, that not only make your skin more attractive, but also prevents your skin from sunburn naturally. That is why tanning beds also provide UV-A and UV-B Rays. These are some common and valuable health benefits of sun exposure. But remember long exposure to sun rays can cause sunburn, skin rashes and in extreme cases skin cancer.
